Introduction
At UE, we believe that everyone is on a journey of formation. By placing emphasis on spiritual formation, we want to come alongside you as you grow in your spiritual awareness of how you are being shaped and formed by the practices and rhythms in your daily life.
Focus Areas
-
Integrated Spirituality: We seek to create formational avenues where you can make wholistic connections between your spirituality and your intellectual, social, ethical/moral, emotional, and physical development.
-
Nurturing Communities: We foster environments of connection where you can learn to listen, ask inviting questions, and support people in their commonalities and differences.
-
Vocational Perspective: We provide a broader framework for you to explore what is ‘yours to do in the world’ by promoting conversations around identity, giftings, and purpose to reframe the ways we think about higher education and career.
-
Open Dialogue: We equip you to honestly engage with those of diverse faith traditions in ways marked by curiosity, civility, and respect to promote deeper understanding across differences.

Spiritual Direction and Care
A Spiritual Director is a trained listener who journeys with you along the spiritual journey of noticing God’s presence, activity, and invitations as well as your own reactions and responses along the way. The ministry of spiritual direction helps foster a deeper prayer life and discernment as you navigate the road ahead.
Nurturing Communities
Story Groups
We are each designed with a longing to know and be known by others. Story Groups are designed to explore the transformative power of listening well to each other, our experiences, and the world around us. It’s a chance to embrace attentiveness in a world of distraction.
